Liu
Shiwen's
Personal
Journey
Liu
Shiwen,
born
on
April
12,
1991
in
Liaoning,
China,
is
an
accomplished
table
tennis
player
who
has
won
numerous
medals
in
international
competitions.
However,
her
journey
to
success
was
not
an
easy
one.
From
a
young
age,
Liu
showed
a
talent
for
table
tennis
and
began
training
under
the
guidance
of
her
father.
She
quickly
rose
through
the
ranks
and
became
a
member
of
the
Chinese
national
team
at
the
age
of
15.
She
has
since
won
many
titles,
including
the
world
championships
in
2019,
and
has
become
a
role
model
for
many
young
athletes
in
China.
Despite
her
success,
Liu
has
faced
her
fair
share
of
challenges.
In
2015,
she
was
diagnosed
with
a
shoulder
injury
that
forced
her
to
withdraw
from
competitions
and
undergo
surgery.
This
setback
made
her
realize
the
importance
of
listening
to
her
body
and
taking
care
of
herself,
both
physically
and
mentally.
In
addition
to
her
physical
challenges,
Liu
has
also
faced
criticism
from
some
in
the
media
and
public
for
her
quiet
nature
and
reserved
personality.
However,
she
has
remained
focused
on
her
goals
and
has
continued
to
work
hard
to
improve
her
game
and
represent
her
country
with
pride.
Off
the
court,
Liu
has
also
shown
a
commitment
to
helping
others.
In
the
wake
of
the
COVID-19
pandemic,
she
donated
money
and
supplies
to
support

As
